JACKSONVILLE, Fla., — Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) is excited to announce the top three mascots that received the most votes during the mascot search process over the course of four weeks from October to November 2023. After receiving a total of nearly 9,000 votes from students, faculty, staff and the community, the top three mascots, in alphabetical order, are:

  • Kraken
  • Manta Ray
  • Sea Dragon

FSCJ is asking the community to vote one more time to select their favorite mascot to help choose an official mascot to represent the College community of students, faculty and staff.

Voting is open to the public now through February 23, 2024. To submit your vote, click here. Participants should only vote one time for their favorite.

FSCJ has been a staple in this community for almost six decades, providing exceptional educational opportunities to both traditional and non-traditional students. As you join with FSCJ to identify a College mascot, it’s important to keep in mind the mission and core values of FSCJ as the community’s College.

FSCJ’s Mission: Florida State College at Jacksonville provides an equitable, high quality, success-driven learning experience for our diverse community of students.

FSCJ’s Core Values: Integrity, Respect for All Served by FSCJ, Innovation, Student-Centered, Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Service

The mascot should be a symbol that represents the significance and importance of FSCJ in helping students meet their academic and professional goals. The mascot will also serve as the face of FSCJ’s athletic teams and should reflect a fun, energetic and competitive brand.
