The Florida Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP) in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics is a collaborative effort sustained by a coalition of 14 colleges and universities throughout Florida and Georgia. The mission is to significantly increase the number of underrepresented minority students statewide who complete undergraduate degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields (STEM).

Program Overview and Benefits 

FGLSAMP is a National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored program with Florida A&M University serving as the lead institution of the 14-member alliance.

At Florida State College at Jacksonville, the FGLSAMP program provides the following:

 Program Eligibility

  • Be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Participate in the schedule of activities during the academic term
  • Adhere to the program guidelines as established by the FGLSAMP Coordinator and the National Science Foundation
