Veteran’s Center for Career Re-Entry Grand Opening Nov. 1

Nov 1, 2022, 10:58 AM
Florida State College at Jacksonville continues a long tradition of support and service for military service members and veterans

As an ever-increasing number of sailors, soldiers, marines and airmen transition from military service to civilian life, they face the challenge of re-establishing their lives and re-entering the civilian workforce. The Veteran’s Center for Career Re-Entry (VCCR) at Florida State College at Jacksonville is established to assist veterans ages 20–24 in overcoming the barriers to success—helping them get access to educational programs, workshops, individualized support services and case management, paid externships (limited), assistance with job searches and placement and other resources geared specifically to the needs of student veterans. The VCCR provides advisors and a designated space where student veterans can gain transitional skills and supportive services to help them thrive in their education and careers. To meet these objectives, the VCCR fosters partnerships with community business leaders, veteran advocacy groups and local governmental agencies to create competency-based, industry-driven education programs that will lead to the placement of veterans in rewarding careers. WHAT: Grand Opening of the Veterans Center for Career Re-Entry WHEN: Nov. 1, 2010 at 3 p.m. WHERE: Florida State College at Jacksonville Urban Resource Center, 601 W. State St. Jacksonville, FL 32202
