Florida State College at Jacksonville has received a $10,000 Economic Mobility Grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. Most of the funds will be used to build a more robust internship experience for 20 students in the Associate in Science in IT Security program. This will enhance the college’s overall workforce development initiatives while also addressing the community’s shortage of highly skilled cyber-security professionals.
The rest of the funds, in a partnership with the Northeast Florida Regional STEM²Hub, The Museum of Science and History and Brunet-García Advertising Agency, will support the development and implementation of an interactive, educational exhibit to raise awareness of cyber-security issues and inform youth about the field.
