Florida State College at Jacksonville is offering a new FSCJ Safe mobile app for students, faculty, staff and visitors, designed to keep them safe throughout the college’s campuses and centers in Northeast Florida.
The free app is available to download on Apple and Android devices and offers real-time safety functions and features. The smartphone app providesinformation on how to respond to emergencies such as an active shooter, evacuations and severe weather, the school states. The FSCJ Safe app allows usersto report information and receive emergency notices. It also offers campus maps, school resources and options to call 911 or report a tip to campus security.
The Safe app lets on-campus users send their location to school security dispatchers and talk with them. It also provides a list of campus security contactsand telephone numbers for the Jacksonville and Nassau County sheriff’s offices.
Users can download the app in Google Play or the App store by searching “FSCJ Safe.”
