TU: FSCJ forensics team wins top spot in invitational tournament

Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Blue Wave Forensics Team won first place on Jan. 23 at the Marks Invitational Tournament at the University of West Florida, ahead of 13 other teams from nine state

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Nine students in the team advanced to final rounds in 16 events - Chris Carlson, Nicki Ercolino, Jimmy Henson, Saman Jaberi, Kristen Karlik, Adonis Lane, Julian Lopez, Samantha Radomski and Madeline Windsor. Three students earned top non-advancing novice awards - Angi Barnard, Chris Carlson and Kristen Karlik.
The Jacksonville students beat major school teams from the University of Alabama, the University of Florida and Florida State University. The FSCJ team is preparing for the Florida College System Activities Association State Championship Tournament, with the South Campus hosting the event Thursday through Saturday at 11901 Beach Blvd.
