Here is a big green thumbs-up to Florida State College at Jacksonville: FSCJ is among just 19 organizations selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to receive an environmental workforce development and job training grant.

The grant will provide FSCJ with as much as $192,300 to keep operating a training program that recruits unemployed and under-employed residents in areas facing environmental issues. The training gives the residents the skills they need to be employed in environmental-related careers.

FSCJ offers the 11-week training program at its Urban Resource Center, located near its downtown campus.
