TEDxFSCJ Announces Upcoming Salon: “Duval EATS, Lettuce Grow”

WHAT: TEDxFSCJ will host a salon exploring our community’s local food culture. “Duval EATS, Lettuce Grow” will take place on Thursday, March 9, 2017.

The “eat local” movement is thriving across Northeast Florida. From local farms and food producers to farmers’ markets and farm-to-table restaurants, Jacksonville offers a vibrant locavore culture to consumers concerned about the origins, nutrition and sustainability of their food.

The evening will feature two speakers steeped in Jacksonville’s food movement, Dr. Leslie Kaplan and Don Justice. The speakers will address the benefits of the local food system and opportunities for community members to get involved.  The evening will also include the viewing of select TED talks.
