Elementary school students in Duval and Nassau counties enjoyed the benefits of free dental check-ups and a decay-preventive treatment, thanks to North Campus Dental programs and Henry Schein Dental.
Fluoride varnish is an effective means of strengthening teeth to prevent dental decay, and it's quick and painless. About 60 kids ages five to twelve received oral hygiene instructions, plus games and activities promoting oral health for a fun, positive dental experience. All services were free and provided by volunteer dentists, along with students from the Florida State College's Dental programs. An annual event, Mighty Teeth Day was sponsored by Florida State College at Jacksonville’s North Campus and Henry Schein Dental. (WTLV, Feb. 25, 2012)
