Florida State College at Jacksonville Professor of Marine Biology Robert Martin, Ph.D., tells Action News how ultra-loud sound waves used in searching for undersea oil can affect dolphins, whales and other sea creatures.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management just released a new study recommending seismic airgun testing to look for oil under the ocean floor. A CBS 47 WTEV story shows some favor it, but environmentalists, including FSCJ Professor Rob Martin, say the impact on marine life could be devastating.
