Rewards of Volunteering

Florida State College at Jacksonville student Jolisa Brinson is a proud winner of the Herbert W. Scheidel Community Leadership in Action Award.

The scholarship is an award inspired by the life of Scheidel and honors his legacy of outstanding community service. It recognizes students who go above and beyond to help others. Their volunteer service should demonstrate a significant impact on the agency or the population served.

Two finalists each receive $500 awards.  The winner receives a $5,000 scholarship, and their agency receives a $2,500 donation.
