Author to discuss ‘Seven Myths of the Civil War’ at Ponte Vedra Library

Dr. Wesley Moody will discuss his "Seven Myths of the Civil War" book at a Ponte Vedra Forum program scheduled for Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

The book tackles enduring Civil War myths and explores a wide range of subjects, including the cause of the war, soldiers, leaders, battlefields and Sherman's "March Through Georgia."

"Seven Myths of the Civil War" also contains essays by various historians revealing true stories hidden beneath Civil War falsehoods.

Moody is a professor of history at Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). He has a PhD in american history from Georgia State University, and he is the author of four books on the American Civil War.
