During the conference, the Upsilon Eta chapter was recognized by both the state and the international headquarters for their dedication to academic excellence.
The chapter also reached its five star status for the work put into the Honors in Action and college projects.
Justin Cran, Upsilon Eta president, received the regional award for best piece of submitted music and Ruth Anderson, vice president of scholarship, received the regional award for best piece of submitted poetry.
The Upsilon Eta chapter was also chosen to host the 2015 Regional Honors Institute for the second time as a result of the success and positive response from being the host chapter for 2014. The chapter received accolades and positive feedback for their efforts for the 2014 Honors Institute. Their innovative concept for the conference set a new example for the content that future chapters will use in their conferences.
“Hosting the Regional Honors Institute is a tremendous honor for our chapter,” said Justin Cran, president Phi Theta Kappa Upsilon Eta chapter. “We look forward to bringing home additional positive results to share with this institution.”
