On jacksonville.com: FSCJ's foundation reports $1.5 million in scholarships

Florida State College at Jacksonville's private foundation passed out $1.5 million in scholarship for 2012-13, the highest amount in the past five years, the college reported.

The money translates to 1,011 scholarships given to 816 students.

Leaders at the foundation say so far this fiscal year, they have raised more than $900,000. The foundation's assets are more than $42 million, they say.
