In the Times-Union: FSCJ Chef Robbert Bouman on "Thanksgiving's Pie Dispute"

"Is pumpkin pie really the favorite this time of year, or are we allowing tradition to impede on our taste buds?" asks Times-Union writer Cristin Wilson in her article exploring the question of pumpkin over sweet potato pie.

According to Wilson's research, sweet potato pie is the more popular over pumpkin in the south, especially among the African-American population. It's also preferred by Florida State College at Jacksonville Professor Robbert Bouman, who provided a recipe for each. Whatever your preference though, he recommends making your own crust, insisting it's not that hard to do.
