Those individuals and organizations were recognized for their generosity and dedication to the community, giving to many causes and organizations that in many ways improve the lives and futures of Northeast Florida's children. Mr. Harry Frisch, founder of Beaver Street Fisheries, is a long-time benefactor toward causes to help children, and a long-time benefactor of Florida State College at Jacksonville. Mr. Frisch was the recipient of the 2013 Legacy Award. Gary Chartrand, executive chairman of Acosta, Inc., and Nancy Chartrand, who runs the Chartrand Foundation, are generous benefactors to Take Stock in Children (a program of FSCJ). Together they received the Outstanding Philanthropists award. EverBank, another generous benefactor to Take Stock in Children, was recognized as the 2013 Outstanding Corporation.
“As President of the First Coast Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals and Executive Director of Florida State College Foundation, I cannot think of anyone more deserving than Harry Frisch to receive the 2013 Legacy Award for his philanthropic support of our community," said Maggie Hightower, CFRE, interim executive director of the Florida State College Foundation. "We are also so pleased to recognize Everbank and Gary and Nancy Chartrand for their support of Take Stock in Children.”
