With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Heather Mahalaris, RN, BSN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Heather is a registered nurse with 18 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially medical/surgical nursing. Heather is currently serving patients as Assistant Nurse Manager at Baptist Medical Center in South Jacksonville, Florida. She is responsible for scheduling, staffing, bed management, patient satisfaction, service recovery, leadership rounding, education, and communication. Furthermore, Heather was honored with a Spirit of Magnet Teaching and Knowledge Sharing Award at Baptist Health.
Heather attended Florida State College at Jacksonville where she received her Associate degree in Nursing in 1998. She then went to Kaplan University where she acquired her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2016. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing program with Family Nurse Practitioner concentration, which she is expected to complete in 2018 at Kaplan University-Cedar Rapids Campus. Heather is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support, additionally is an inductee of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She attributes her success to her passion and love for the field of nursing. When she is not working, Heather enjoys spending time with her family.
