FSCJ’s DramaWorks to Present William Shakespeare’s comedy “Much Ado About Nothing”

WHAT:           Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) DramaWorks will present the comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” by William Shakespeare. “Much Ado About Nothing” is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays. The setting of this FSCJ DramaWorks production will be in 1945 at the end of World War II, and include music and dances from that period.

COST:             Tickets are $10 for the general public

                        Tickets are $5 for FSCJ faculty, staff and students (2 tickets per valid FSCJ ID) IN ADVANCE. $10 at the door.

About the play and production:

Written between 1598 and 1599 at the peak of the Bard’s creative powers, “Much Ado About Nothing” is a story about love, deception and redemption.  Much of the plot focuses on two of Shakespeare’s most famous couples, including the tumultuous courtship of Claudio and Hero, and the most quarrelsome lovers of Benedick and Beatrice.

The FSCJ DramaWorks production of “Much Ado About Nothing” features 22 student actors and 10+ crew members from all areas of the First Coast, with set and lighting design by FSCJ Director of Theatre and Entertainment Technology Johnny Pettegrew and directed by Professor of Theatre Ken McCulough.
