FSCJ will be closed for spring break from Monday, March 17 – Sunday, March 23, 2025. We look forward to serving you when we return on March 24.
WHAT: Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) will participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) to provide meals, free of charge, to eligible children who are participating in the Gaining Resources and Developing Skills (GRADS) SAT/ACT prep program.
GRADS is a program through FSCJ’s Office of College Readiness College Reach-Out Program (CROP) that prepares students in grades ten through twelve for SAT/ACT success. Additionally, students will benefit from life skills courses, financial literacy, career exploration, community service activities and cultural events, culminating in a talent and awards ceremony.
To be eligible for SFSP, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. (See attached guidelines.) Children from households that receive the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, benefits from the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automatically eligible to receive SFSP meals as well.
Acceptance and participation requirements for SFSP and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
