FSCJ Visits Mandarin High School for Recruitment Event

FSCJ piloted a new type of recruitment event in November that created a real buzz at Mandarin High School. The Office of Student Recruitment along with personnel from logistics, aviation, public safety, IT, occupational therapy, culinary arts and enrollment services collaborated with the Mandarin High School counseling department and took the show on the road to showcase the diversity of FSCJ program offerings to more than 200 high school seniors. 

During the event, students had the opportunity to learn about several of our programs while having a little hands-on fun. Activities they participated in included:

• Playing the FSCJ admissions version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
• Trying to fly an aircraft and painting an aircraft using a simulator
• Beating the buzzer while learning about logistics
• Seeing, touching and testing the equipment occupational therapist assistants use with patients
• Learning how fire science, criminal justice and IT work together to solve crimes
• Enjoying a delicious snack prepared by our student ambassadors whiling learning about culinary arts
