FSCJ to Host Fourth Annual Vision Awareness Day

WHAT:          Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) invites members of the community to participate in the fourth annual Vision Awareness Day. The event features unique experiential activities designed to heighten community awareness and sensitivity to individuals with vision loss.

The public is encouraged to engage and explore the world of blindness and visual disability through:

  • Sensory stations to include auditory, smell, taste and touch
  • White cane maze challenge
  • Braille demonstrations
  • Streaming documentary and video presentations relevant to vision loss and blindness as well as video interviews with FSCJ students with vision loss
  • Free vision screenings offered by Vision is Priceless Council
  • Assistive technology and device demonstrations
  • Community resources information
  • T-shirt giveaways

Everyone is welcome to take part in this free community event.
