FSCJ to Host Business Speaker Series Event, “State of the Economy”

Nov 1, 2022, 10:57 AM

WHAT:  Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) will host the fourth event in its Business Speaker Series, presented by First Florida Credit Union. “State of the Economy” will feature the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Executive Vice President and Director of Research Dr. David E. Altig.

Dr. Altig oversees the Bank’s regional executives and research department. In addition to his role of advising the Bank president on monetary policy and other related matters, he also serves on the management and discount committees. Leading the Atlanta Fed’s microblog, he provides commentary on various economic topics including macroeconomic developments and regional economics.

Dr. Altig also serves as an adjunct professor of economics in the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, was elected as a director of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) and serves on the boards of the Global Interdependence Center and the Atlanta-based Neighborhood Nexus.

The series was made possible by a $250,000 commitment from First Florida Credit Union to support initiatives that will help local students and community members become future business leaders. The funding helped launch the series and will bolster the College’s Financial Skills Academy over the span of five years.

Seating is very limited. Online registration is required. Visit fscj.edu/business-speakers.
