Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) will honor 130 nursing program graduates at the upcoming Pinning Ceremony on Monday, August 15, 2016.
WHAT: |
Ninety-six of the graduates will receive their Associate in Science (A.S.) in Nursing, 25 graduates will receive their Bachelor of Science (B.S.N.) in Nursing and nine will receive their Practical Nursing workforce certificate. Graduates receiving their A.S. in Nursing are prepared to function as entry–level practitioners and are qualified to take the National Council for Licensure Examination (NCLEX - RN) to become licensed as registered nurses (RN). Graduates receiving their Bachelor of Science in Nursing are prepared to provide, design, manage and coordinate health care for increasing complex patients, families and communities. Graduates receiving their Practical Nursing certification are prepared for entry-level positions to provide direct care to clients in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and various health care settings under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician. A pinning ceremony is a symbolic welcoming of newly graduated nurses into the nursing profession. The graduates are presented with nursing pins by the faculty of the FSCJ nursing school. |
