FSCJ’s Center for Learning Enrichment to Host “Discover Your Universe” Event

The Center for Learning Enrichment invites members of the public to explore planets, find constellations and learn how to use a telescope at this fun-filled event.

The Center for Learning Enrichment invites members of the public to explore planets, find constellations and learn how to use a telescope at this fun-filled event.

WHAT:

There will be kid space activities as well as telescopes and meteorites on display. The event will also feature 15-minute-long talks on the following topics:
·       Finding Constellations
·       How to Buy Binoculars
·       How to Buy a Telescope
·       Observing the Moon
·       Observing the Planets
·       Observing Deep Sky Objects
·       The 2017 Great American Total Solar Eclipse

Join us at 7:30 p.m. for a special program and talk on astronomy with James Albury, co-host of “Star Gazers” on PBS. Also, participants will have the chance to observe the universe through telescopes (weather permitting).
