FSCJ Professor Dr. Justin Bateh Receives Teaching Excellence Award

Nov 1, 2022, 10:58 AM
Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) Professor of Business Dr. Justin Bateh has been named a regional recipient of the 2016 Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Teaching Excellence Award.

The ACBSP recognizes individuals each year who exemplify teaching excellence in the classroom.

Dr. Bateh will be presented with a medallion and $100 check at the ACBSP Annual Conference 2016 from June 17-20 in Atlanta, Georgia. During the conference, two International Teaching Excellence Award recipients will be announced at a special Salute to Regions luncheon, one from a baccalaureate/graduate degree-granting institution and one from an associate degree-granting institution. As a regional recipient, Dr. Bateh is now a candidate for the international award.

“Dr. Bateh is a dedicated, conscientious, and enthusiastic faculty member who sets high standards for students, then helps them learn to meet and exceed those standards. He is readily available to assist students in any way needed; and his passion for teaching and learning is clear to students and colleagues,” said Annette Barrineau, interim dean of career education at FSCJ.

The ACBSP Associate Degree Commission established the International Teaching Excellence Award in 1995 to recognize outstanding classroom teachers. In 2002, the Baccalaureate Degree Commission created a similar award to recognize excellence in teaching at the baccalaureate/graduate degree level. ACBSP is the only specialized body for business schools that presents an award recognizing excellence in teaching, open to application by the entire membership.

“It is more important than ever for business programs to produce graduates who are ready to enter the global marketplace,” said Jeffrey Alderman, ACBSP Chief Executive Officer. “ACBSP has a mission to develop, promote and recognize best practices that contribute to continuous improvement of business education. Recognition of teaching excellence is one way we achieve this goal,” he stated.

About ACBSP
ACBSP’s mission is to promote continuous improvement and recognize excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. ACBSP currently has 1,225 member campuses, 241 of which are located outside of the U.S. Of those campuses, 958 have achieved accreditation and more than 167 are in candidacy for accreditation. Individual members on these campuses now exceed 13,000.
