At the beginning of December, Florida State College at Jacksonville hosted the Florida IT Career Alliance (FITC) as they recognized all of their local educational partners in Duval and Clay counties for their efforts promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education.

FITC is funded by the Targeted Educational Attainment (TEAm) Grant Program awarded by the Florida Board of Governors for collaborative higher education projects, designed to produce more students for careers in the high-demand fields of information technology, computer science and computer engineering.

During the press conference FITC honored FSCJ along with its six middle and high school partners, in addition to its university and college partners in the state of Florida.

In partnering with FITC, the Alliance is able to fund initiatives pursued by these institutions to promote information technology, computer science and engineering education. These activities include hosting Career Fairs, purchasing robotic equipment, funding after-school technology clubs and much more.

Florida State College at Jacksonville is honored to be a part of this initiative to develop and prepare students for careers in the science, engineering and technology fields. These fast-growing industries will provide numerous opportunities for career growth in the future.
