More than two weeks after the still-missing Malaysia Flight 370 lost communication with ground crew, but flew for hours and then disappeared, answers to questions about what happened and why are unknown. FSCJ Aviation program manager and flight instructor Sam Fischer offers a likely explanation and where the answers to those questions will be found.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 made a sharp U-turn and decreased altitude after the flight crew lost communication with ground control. These actions may have been pre-set by the flight crew in case of emergency, a common practice, according to Florida State College at Jacksonville Aviation Programs Manager and Flight Instructor Sam Fischer. What actually happened in the cockpit after losing contact with ground crew won't be known until the plane, and its flight recorder, are found. Seasoned pilot Fischer offers theories as to what probably occurred. Report aired March 24, 2014 WJXT at 10 p.m. Copyright 2014 by News4Jax.com.
