FSCJ Economics Professor Roman Cech explains the upswing in Florida gas prices

Nov 1, 2022, 10:58 AM
According to information in this CBS 47 report from Nov. 26, 2013, gas prices have risen faster in Florida than in the rest of the country. Reporter Lorena Inclan called on Florida State College at Jacksonville Economics Professor Roman Cech, Ph.D., to explain how that could be.

CBS 47 Reporter Lorena Inclan shows on a map from gasbuddy.com, how gasoline prices in Florida a comparatively higher than the national average. To find out why, she asked Dr. Roman Cech, professor of Economics at the FSCJ Deerwood Center, what could be the possible cause. Cech cites conditions at refineries in the Gulf Coast, from which much of our gas comes, but also answers the larger question as to why prices are on the upswing, and may be for some time.
