That's why they were excited to particpate in fundraising to support The Apple Project, an effort spearheaded by First Coast News to raise a free dental clinic to help low-income and no-income families obtain much-needed dental care. The students accepted donations from fair-goers at the FSCJ 11th Annual Literacy Fair in September. Donors received a healthy snack of a shiny red apple and that satisfaction that they were helping someone get care they would otherwise go without. According to FSCJ Dental Programs Manager Jeff Smith, DDS, the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting students have raised more than $300.
