FSCJ Dean Youlanda Henry Reflects on Universal Influence of Maya Angelou

Florida State College at Jacksonville's Youlanda Henry talked with WJXT about Maya Angelou's 86 years of life as a worldwide acclaimed poet, author, actress, singer, screenwriter, director, dancer and activist. Although Angelou never earned a formal degree, she received numerous honorary degrees and strongly believed in and encouraged lifelong learning. Henry, associate dean of North Campus Library and Learning Commons, tells why she thinks Angelou's impact and appeal was so broad, embraced by people from any and all backgrounds.
