FSCJ Celebrates Florida Arbor Day with Tree Planting Event

WHAT:  Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) is celebrating Florida Arbor Day by hosting a tree planting event. To kick off the event, the College welcomes Jack Hernandez with the Florida Forest Service to give a brief presentation on Florida Arbor Day.

Along with faculty and staff, representatives from FSCJ’s student body will plant 50 trees of different varieties across the campus. The trees were donated by Greenscape of Jacksonville, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the Jacksonville’s landscape and its importance to the community’s health and well-being.

More Information: Florida Arbor Day is celebrated annually on the third Friday in January. The state has recognized the holiday since 1886.
