Streaming South - Illuminations From a Journey Home

Starting from a curiosity about the waterways around his home, Eng explored nearby creeks and observed the seasonal nature of the landscape over the course of a year. The experience connected Eng with his own emotions about discovery, loss, beauty and the harmonious complexity of nature.
Visual Arts & Digital Media Faculty Exhibit

Opening: Thursday, September 24, 5 – 7:30 p.m.
The South Campus Gallery presents the annual faculty show featuring art, design and video by FSCJ professors including Liz Bryant, Byron Caplan, Mark Creegan, Julia DeArriba-Montgomery, Dustin Harewood, Dr. Mary Joan Hinson, Dr. Troy Johnson, Patrick Miko, Ali Mitchell, Michael Nuetzel, Mark Sablow, Liz Murphy Thomas and others.
Blocktoberfest
October 23 – November 12, 2015
Opening: Friday, October 23, 7 – 9 p.m.
Blocktoberfest is an annual printmaking extravaganza featuring workshops, t-shirt printing and large-scale block printing with a steamroller. Print collaborative Fatherless will exhibit their screen prints and artist David Menard will be on hand to demonstrate block printing techniques.
Student Holiday Celebration
November 20 – December 8, 2015
Opening: Friday, November 20, 5 – 7:30 p.m.
The final exhibit of the year features works by the students of the South Campus of FSCJ in the areas of visual art and digital media. Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, video, graphic design and digital media will be represented.

Figuration
September 29 – October 20, 2015
Opening: Tuesday, September 29, 6 - 8 p.m.
Figuration features the human figure from four different perspectives. Artists Nina Avis, Dimelza Broche, Cody Rose and Franklin Ratliff will exhibit paintings and mixed media works.
Morrison Pierce and Loren Myhre
October 27 – November 17, 2015
Opening: Tuesday, October 27, 6 – 8 p.m.
Morrison Pierce’s street aesthetic full of vivid color and pop culture references belie a sharper social commentary. Flagler instructor Loren Myhre’s abstract works include 2D layered constructions and assemblage sculpture. Works from both artists will be on display on the Kent Campus in October and November.
Student Holiday Show

This exhibit is the culmination of the Fall Term for Kent Campus art students. Featuring paintings, drawings, mixed media and digital media.

Express Your Selfie
September 17 – October 29, 2015
Opening: Thursday, September 17, 5 – 7 p.m.
Express Your Selfie provides an innovative look at the highly popular concept of the “selfie” through the eyes of hospitalized children. MOCA Jacksonville teamed up with Art with a Heart in Healthcare to create a photography and mixed media exhibition featuring the works of talented patient artists from Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Twenty-five works from this project are on display at FSCJ North Campus.
Inside Out
November 5 – December 4, 2015
Opening: Thursday, November 5, 5 – 7 p.m.
This installation was created by the organization I Still Matter, a community mental health organization that enhances well-being and fights stigma by placing healing art groups for women and adolescents throughout the First Coast. Paintings and other collaborative projects by members of the group and the students of FSCJ will be on display.

Mind, Body, Soul, and Spirit – A Celebration of the Arts

Opening and Dedication: Tuesday, October 20, 6 – 8 p.m.
This exhibit marks the grand opening of the Open Campus/Deerwood Center gallery and features a collection of Mandalas and SoulCollage® Cards created by students in Professor Dana Kuehn’s Expressive Arts courses. A large mandala will be on display for gallery attendees to contribute to the creation of and to add to the exhibition.

Images of Diversity

Opening: September 10, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Featuring the artwork and handicraft of FSCJ students of many cultures. This exhibit is part of Downtown Campus’ Diversiday Celebration honoring our multicultural student body and celebrating FSCJ’s 50th year. Activities will take place across campus from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on September 10 and 11.
