FSCJ BlueWave Volleyball Players Awards and Recognitions

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) BlueWave Athletics announces that Kaylon Cruickshank, Sophomore Middle Blocker from Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Nicolette Ramos, Freshman Outside Hitter from Jacksonville, Florida (Sandalwood High School), have been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 8 (State of Florida) Volleyball Team.  In addition, Cruickshank was named Panhandle Conference Player of the Year.  Joining Cruickshank on the All-Panhandle Conference First Team are Ramos and Sophomore Setter Cheryke Brian-Garmos (San Juan, PR). 

FSCJ First year Head Coach Jordan Yantin was also honored as Panhandle Conference Coach of the Year.  Freshman Right Side Hitter Ina Gosen (Golenkamp, Germany) and Sophomore Outside Hitter Karla Rosario (Naranjito, PR) were named to the All-Panhandle Conference Second Team.

“It has been so rewarding to watch the players and coaches work tirelessly this season to earn the recognition they have received,” said Director of Athletics Ginny Alexander. “I am excited to see how they continue that success at the NJCAA region 8 Tournament."

The FSCJ BlueWave Volleyball Team opened up against Polk State College at on Friday, November 3 in the NJCAA Regional 8 Tournament hosted by State College of Florida in Bradenton, Florida.
