JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) 2016-17 BlueWave Baseball team was ranked 10th in the nation for academic success by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and second in the state for Region 8. The students on the team maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.36. The minimum grade point average requirement for consideration is a team GPA of 3.00.
Additionally, there are 16 BlueWave student-athletes who have been recognized for academic achievement and awarded NJCAA honors on the First, Second and Third All-Academic Teams. The All-Academic First Team are those students with a GPA of 4.0, the Second Team are those students who maintain a 3.99-3.8 GPA and the Third Team includes students who earn a GPA between 3.79 and 3.6. Thirty-nine other BlueWave athletes earned a 3.3 or higher GPA and are honored as All-Academic for the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA), Region 8.
