Faculty Spotlight: Florida's Top Professor

Jerry Shawver, a math professor at Deerwood's Academic Success Center, has won the prestigious Professor of the Year Award from the Association of Florida Colleges, Faculty Commission.  He has been teaching for nearly 20 years, first at Terry Parker High School and now at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

He is also a successful, and skilled fisherman.  In 2003, the Jacksonville native made it all the way to the Super Bowl of bass fishing, the Bass Master Classic.
