Camping it up for a Career in Logistics

Here's a twist--a summer academy for high school students exploring careers in Logistics and Distribution

Fifty students from high schools in Duval, Baker and St. Johns counties begin a week-long summer academy on June 13 at the Florida State College Downtown Campus at 9 a.m. Campers will work on a week-long product development and logistics project, meet local industry leaders (Rick Ferrin, Bobby Steele, Mark Schultz, Elaine Puri, Rick Sharpe, Terrell Jones, Kim Highsmith) , tour local Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution centers (Tuesday and Thursday), and discover whether a career in this important, fast-paced industry is right for them. This program is funded by a U.S. Department of Labor grant and provided to the students at no cost to them! In addition to the field trips, industry leader presentations and exercises, student teams will present their completed projects on June 17. This week will be filled with great photo opportunities for media interested in economic development. This is where it all starts. Be there to tell the story! Call or email Corby for more information.
