Advanced Disposal donating 19-ton gift to Florida Coast Career Tech

Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. CEO Charlie Appleby and oficials will donate a rear-load solid waste collection truck to Florida Coast Career Tech (a division of Florida State College at Jacksonville) Heavy Truck and Diesel Technology program Dec. 1 at 11:30 a.m. The gift comes in time for the holidays and will provide much needed hydraulic and diesel training to students and potential Advanced Disposal employees.

The 32-yard rear-load truck is a 2000 MACK MR688S with a McNeilus body that serviced residential waste collection routes in Jacksonville. The truck logged 129,519 miles before getting a comprehensive makeover for teaching purposes. This $118,000 donation will make it possible for students to learn hydraulics systems hands-on, addressing a critical need in Florida Coast Career Tech instruction.
