FSCJ’s SGA Collegewide President Ta’Nasha Parker was named the 2018-19 FCSSGA President of the Year. This award is given to an SGA president from one of the 28 Florida College System (FCS) institutions who has provided distinguished service to their respective college’s SGA. The award winner must exhibit great support, teamwork, opportunities and leadership for their fellow students.

SGA Vice President Nadia Esha was named winner of the 2018-19 FCSSGA Region 1 Leadership Award, which is given to one student who has proven to be a successful leader in their region and their college. FCSSGA Region 1 consists of nine FCS institutions north of Gainesville and east of Pensacola.

Additionally, FSCJ South Campus SGA Vice Chair Karixza “CC” Luna-Soliveras was elected by her peers to serve as the 2019-20 FCSSGA Region 1 Assistant Coordinator. “Ms. Parker, Ms. Esha and Ms. Luna-Soliveras are incredible representatives for our College. To be recognized by the Florida College System in this way is a testament to their strong leadership, not only for our College, but also for our sister institutions across the state,” said Interim College President Kevin Hyde. “We are proud of their achievements and grateful for their exemplary service to this College, our students and the Florida College System.”
