2015 Writers Celebration Contest

The FSCJ 2015 Writers Celebration Contest is accepting submissions now.

The FSCJ 2015 Writers Celebration Contest is now accepting submissions. Students can submit essays or other projects to participate. First-place winners from each track will receive a $350 scholarship. Second- and third-place winners will receive a $100 scholarship. We encourage you to share this with your students and invite them to send in their submissions. Students can choose one of the following topics for their submission:

  • Track One: Developmental Essay (300-600 words)—Only students currently enrolled in a developmental course such as ENC 0015 or ENC 0025 may enter
  • Track Two: Author Series Essay (700-1200 words with a minimum of three peer-reviewed sources)
  • Track Three: Service Learning Reflection Essay (500-1000 words, two-four sources)
  • Track Four: Visual Rhetoric Persuasive Presentation (5-7 minutes using MS PowerPoint or Mac Keynote)
  • Track Five: Multimedia Production

The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2014 and the winners will be recognized at the Writers Celebration Awards Ceremony at South Campus on March 5.
