JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) BlueWave Athletics has added Men’s Cross Country to its 2018-19 athletic offerings. The sport is growing in popularity and there are currently 116 Men’s Cross Country teams in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
The addition of Men’s Cross Country furthers FSCJ’s ability to focus recruitment efforts on local athletes and support their academic pursuit through scholarships.
“We are excited to add Men’s Cross Country to our athletic department and are confident the popularity of the sport in Jacksonville will help boost the program,” said FSCJ Director of Athletics Ginny Alexander.
The team will be led by Coach Joseph (Jody) Hale, who joined the College in 2017 to help relaunch the Women’s Cross Country program. Any current or incoming male students interested in learning more about the Men’s Cross Country team should contact Coach Hale at (904) 646-2214 or joseph.hale@fscj.edu.
The FSCJ Athletic Department currently has seven athletic programs: Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country.
