TU: FSCJ picks UNF’s David Lowery as women’s basketball coach

Florida State College at Jacksonville has hired former University of North Florida assistant David Lowery as its next women’s basketball coach, the school announced Wednesday.

Lowery had served for three years under Darrick Gibbs with the Ospreys, where UNF last year attained its best record since joining NCAA Division I.

He had also previously worked as an assistant at Davidson, UNC Charlotte and Florida, spending eight seasons with the Gators.

At FSCJ, Lowery replaces Barvenia Wooten, who had coached the Blue Wave for three seasons. FSCJ finished 4-24 in 2018-19.
