“Hamilton” is coming to Jacksonville. So are “Wicked,” “Anastasia” and a 20th-anniversary version of “Rent,” all part of the FSCJ Artist Series’ Broadway in Jacksonville series.
The series returns in the late fall for its 54th season, with a slate of five shows performed at the Times-Union Center.
It opens with “Wicked,” a Broadway smash that tells the backstory of the “Wizard of Oz” witches. It will run in Jacksonville from Nov. 20-Dec. 1.
“Rent” marks 20 years on the road with performances Jan. 14-19. It’s a rock musical take on Puccini’s “La Boheme.”
“Bandstand,” a new musical from choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, is scheduled for Feb. 18-23.
The blockbuster on the schedule is “Hamilton,” which has taken Broadway by storm. The musical story of founding father Alexander Hamilton runs at the Times-Union Center from March 17-29.
The series concludes with “Anastasia,” the tale of a young Parisian who suspects she may be Russian royalty. It is scheduled for April 21-26.
Season tickets for the five shows range from $250-$590, depending on which nights you’d like to attend and where you’d like to sit. Current subscribers get a discount on next season’s tickets.
