JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) Professor of Nursing Renata Henderson was selected to become a member of the 2019 Class of Northeast Florida’s Great 100 Nurses. She and other incoming members were celebrated at a recognition event on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

The Great 100 Nurses Board of Directors gives this award in recognition of one’s nursing spirit and as a tribute to exemplary performance as a professional.

A 20-year nursing professional, Professor Henderson joined FSCJ in 2007. Prior to beginning her instructional career, she served as a hospital nursing supervisor and a preceptor for nursing students, graduates and new hires in the field. The mentorship role is what inspired her move to higher education where she could teach, help others grow in the profession and continue her own nursing career.

“As a nursing educator, one of my goals has been to develop caring and responsible nurses with clinical reasoning skills who are capable to improve outcomes in the health care system,” Professor Henderson said. “I am so proud to say that I am a professor who loves to teach and work with students that love to learn.”
