The Career Employees' Council (CEC) is the representative voice for the Career employees of FSCJ, with the goal to be committed to the continuous development of a collaborative work environment whereby the value and respect of Career employees are elevated through increased recognition, involvement and opportunities to achieve a higher degree of excellence. In this spirit, we put a "spotlight" on one of our members each month.
May's Career Employees' Council (CEC) spotlight features Administrative Assistant I Jamaiah Bowman. She supports the flourishing Urban Agriculture and Aquaponics Lab and serves on the Science Symposium Committee. She has been employed at FSCJ for two years, assisting her department staff and their faculty members.
Ms. Bowman most enjoys working with people inside her department, as well as the individuals she is able to collaborate with outside of the science department. She serves on the CEC Recognition Committee, is Vice President of the STEM Club and the South Campus Wellness Committee.
Jamaiah will be finishing her Associate in Arts degree soon and will be applying to the A.S. Nursing program in the fall.
When she's not at FSCJ, she enjoys finding new places to eat and expanding her palate. She also loves watching football and NASCAR during their respective seasons.
Our spotlight seeks to showcase a CEC representative from each campus/center at least once a year. Nominations for the spotlight may be directed to the CEC Publicity Committee Chair Vanessa Gordon at CEC@fscj.edu.
