May 2024 Recruitment Update

May 14, 2024, 14:35 PM

Earlier this month, the Student Recruitment office successfully concluded FSCJ Takeover Days at the Nassau Center and South and North campuses. After the well-received launch last year in Nassau County, two additional days were added to the 2023-24 academic calendar to give Duval County students an opportunity to gain the benefits of a Takeover Day, which is designed to provide current high school seniors a fun and informative opportunity to explore all that FSCJ has to offer. Nearly 200 seniors took advantage of the opportunity to complete their enrollment steps, attend mock classes taught by FSCJ faculty, meet other students planning to attend in the fall and explore our center/campus offerings. During the three days, 59 students applied and 53 students received advising and registration assistance.

With Takeover Day 2024 effectively concluded, recruitment focus now shifts to the annual Collegewide Open House. Scheduled for Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South Campus, the Open House is an all-hands-on-deck showcase of FSCJ programs, resources and student services. No matter the location of your office, no matter if your position is community-facing or not, there is a role for all to play as the proverbial doors of our venerable institution are opened to the community.

Last year, more than 1,500 registered and approximately 600 attended the Open House to begin charting a course to a more desired education or career destination. A greater response is expected for this June’s event.

You may support the Open House by registering as an onsite volunteer at https://forms.office.com/r/SXgH8VSUaG.

To register your academic program, student support service or grant program for participation, you may do so at https://forms.office.com/r/pp5MAf16Av.
