Florida State College at Jacksonville Announces Launch of Athletics Hall of Fame

Jul 17, 2025, 14:32 PM

Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) proudly announces the establishment of the FSCJ Athletics Hall of Fame. Launching in fall 2025, the Hall of Fame will honor the remarkable achievements and lasting impact of former student-athletes, coaches, teams and special contributors who have significantly shaped FSCJ’s athletic legacy.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student-Athletes: Must have competed in a College-sponsored sport (Florida Junior College, Florida Community College at Jacksonville, Florida State College at Jacksonville), demonstrated a high level of athletic achievement and maintained good academic standing. Eligibility begins five years post-participation.
  • Teams: Must have achieved notable success in a given season and concluded competition at least five years prior to nomination.
  • Coaches: Must have served at least three academic years at FSCJ, demonstrated coaching success and contributed meaningfully to the educational and athletic development of student-athletes.
  • Administrators/Contributors: Individuals or organizations that have made significant and lasting contributions to the success of FSCJ Athletics.

Nomination and Selection Process:

Nominations will be accepted from students, alumni, coaches, faculty, staff and the public starting now. Previous nominees from the past five years will automatically be considered. Final approval of inductees will be made by the College President with an expected announcement date this fall.

The Hall of Fame Selection Committee will include members from the athletic department, College staff and at-large community representatives. The Director of Athletics or their designee will serve as the committee chair.

Induction Ceremony:

Inductees will be notified by the Director of Athletics and formally honored at the annual FSCJ Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony that will be held each fall.

“We are excited to launch the FSCJ Athletics Hall of Fame to celebrate the incredible individuals and teams who have contributed to our rich athletic history,” said FSCJ Director of Athletics Jerry Thor. “Their achievements and service have left a lasting legacy, and this Hall of Fame will ensure their stories continue to inspire future generations of Manta Rays.”
