FSCJ Athletics Announces Game Changing Partnership with First Florida Credit Union

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –

Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) Director of Athletics Jerry Thor announced a game changing partnership with First Florida Credit Union (FFCU). FFCU will now support FSCJ Athletics as a department-wide sponsor of all eight varsity sports, assist in offering financial literacy workshops for student-athletes and promote FFCU Nights for employees and members at select volleyball and basketball games.

"This is a big day for FSCJ Athletics," Thor said. "We aim to lead the way both on and off the court, and this partnership will help our programs continue to challenge for championships while making a meaningful difference in the lives of our student-athletes. We're extremely grateful to Brent Lister, Stuart Davis and the entire team at FFCU for their commitment to our athletic department."

FSCJ and FFCU have enjoyed a strong relationship over the years, with FFCU serving as the title sponsor of the annual FSCJ Golf Classic, benefitting athletics, for the past two years. In addition, FFCU is well-represented at the College’s wellness fair and has led employee and student development on financial topics. 

"FSCJ has always been known as the community’s college, and we are excited to establish the Manta Rays as the community’s team,” said Thor. "When businesses are willing to step up and invest in our programs, it shows they care about providing a high-quality sports experience for members of our community, both as participants and as fans. I am proud to see signs of this support increasing around our facilities, and I am thankful for the commitment this demonstrates."

FFCU is headquartered in Jacksonville and operates 18 branches throughout the state, serving more than 62,000 members.
