FSCJ is delighted to introduce its new Dean of Nursing Paula Marshall. This appointment is a homecoming for her. She served successfully as the College's Associate Dean of Nursing (including a period as Interim Dean of Nursing) from 2019-21. She returns to FSCJ from Fortis College, where she has served as Dean of Nursing since 2021.
As a registered nurse for over two decades, Dean Marshall has diverse experience across clinical and academic roles, along with academic training that includes an M.S. in Nursing Education. Her successful leadership experience in nursing education and record of high licensure rates among program graduates are among the strengths that she will bring to the position.
"Our aim is to elevate FSCJ's nursing programs to be among the best in Florida, and we are pleased to have Paula back with us because we believe her energy and expertise will enhance our programming, not only to better serve our students, but also to enhance the future of health care in our community," said Provost and VP of Academic Affairs Dr. John Wall.
Dean Marshall earned her Certified Nursing Assistant license from the Academy of Practical Nursing in West Palm Beach, and, both from South University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing Education.
She shared the following quote that guides her in her work, "The character of the NURSE is as important as the knowledge she possesses.” - Carolyn Jarvis
