Get to Know Your Fellow CEC Colleagues - Jennifer Sanchez
The Career Employees' Council (CEC) is the representative voice for the Career employees of FSCJ, with the goal to be committed to the continuous development of a collaborative work environment whereby the value and respect of Career employees are elevated through increased recognition, involvement and opportunities to achieve a higher degree of excellence. In this spirit, we put a "spotlight" on one of our members each month.

April's Career Employees' Council (CEC) spotlight features Career Services Student Employment Coordinator Jennifer Sanchez. For the past decade, Jennifer has been an integral part of the FSCJ community, dedicating her career to guiding students toward professional success. Beginning her journey as a Career Advisor at the Downtown Campus, Jennifer spent seven years helping students navigate their career paths before transitioning to her current role.
Jennifer serves as a vital bridge between Human Resources, various departments, community partners and staff, connecting students with valuable on- and off-campus work-study opportunities. Her commitment to student development extends beyond her full-time responsibilities, as she also serves as an adjunct instructor in Human Services, where she teaches courses on counseling theories, human behavior and potential career paths in the field.
"What I love most about my work is helping students discover their calling," Jennifer shares. "There's something especially rewarding about guiding those who are entering the workforce for the first time or gaining experience in their chosen field. Witnessing their personal and professional growth is truly fulfilling."
Jennifer's impressive educational background includes an Associate in Arts from Miami Dade Honors College, a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Mental Health and Family/Couples Therapy from Barry University. Her credentials extend to K-6 Elementary Education and K-12 Spanish teaching certifications, along with Reading and ESOL endorsements. She has further distinguished herself professionally with Global Career Development Facilitator certification and as a Certified Professional Résumé Writer.
During her time at FSCJ, Jennifer has contributed to the institution's mission through service on scholarship committees and numerous hiring committees. Her approach to supporting the CEC's objectives involves staying current on best practices, maintaining resourcefulness and remaining steadfastly committed to student success.
When not helping students realize their potential, Jennifer embraces her passion for travel, having explored more than ten countries. She also enjoys staying active through regular workouts, discovering new cuisines and satisfying her sweet tooth.
Through her multifaceted role at FSCJ, Jennifer exemplifies the dedication and expertise that makes our College community thrive, touching countless student lives along their educational and career journeys.
