FSCJ will be closed for spring break from Monday, March 17 – Sunday, March 23, 2025. We look forward to serving you when we return on March 24.
The Administrative & Professional Collaborative (APC) is the representative voice for the Administrative & Professional employees of FSCJ. In an effort to build cohesiveness, awareness and collegiality, each month we put a “spotlight” on one of our members.
Courtney McCown serves as the program manager for the Health Sciences department. With over sixteen years of experience at FSCJ, she has held various roles across Academic Advising, Student Records, Continuing Workforce Education, Humanities and as a math adjunct instructor. Her extensive background equips her with a strong ability to solve complex problems and adapt quickly to new challenges.
In her current role, Courtney collaborates closely with the Dean, faculty and staff to ensure the smooth operation and success of Health Sciences programs. Her responsibilities include overseeing affiliation agreements, analyzing class scheduling needs, and recruiting, onboarding and supporting the department’s many adjuncts. Her exceptional organizational and communication skills enable her to manage multiple projects effectively and build strong connections with both internal and external stakeholders.
Passionate about fostering student success, Courtney is dedicated to creating an environment where students can thrive academically and professionally. Her commitment to supporting student achievement has always been a central focus of her work. She is enthusiastic about continuing to contribute to the growth and excellence of the Health Sciences department while working collaboratively with her team.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida. These academic credentials have provided her with a solid foundation in understanding student needs and educational leadership.
In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new places while traveling with her family.
Our spotlight shines on each campus/center at least once a year. Nominations for the spotlight may be directed to your campus representative or any officer. Learn more about APC here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1024098564929654.
